I officially got a call from a Los Angeles, CA based agency that is now REPRESENTING ME! EEEeeeeek!
I am not going to post the agency name until I am on their physical database online, but it's still a long awaited dream come true. What does this mean? Besides that FireMakeup Artistry by Jessi Pagel is going to be amongst the high-end artist names all over the United States, I can now be called upon by my agent to work with traveling into Texas corporations, fashion campaign clients, celebrity, and the list goes on. I am elated, I am overjoyed..... I even shed some laughing tears. It has been an amazing journey and it's going to positively get even more amazing! Here's to the future!

Finally, a commercial spot I worked as Makeup and Hair on, is on the air! If you can catch it, there is also an interesting looking character with a neck tattoo I applied. (Tattoo provided by Hawgfly Productions). It was a fun day filming at the Dell Diamond in Round Rock, TX. If you want to take a peek. The link is below. Enjoy!
The voting is going on now! Be sure to vote you favorite beauty practitioners in the Austin area! I voted for me, (FireMakeup Artistry by Jessi Pagel) for the Best Makeup Artist and Best Wedding Services. Then I voted for other local industry professionals for their designated areas. Ya, I know I shouldn't vote for myself. But hey, a little self promotion never hurt anyone!
Here's a link to the page if you would like to spread the love and contribute. http://t.co/I2kUHQcP ISES is the International Special Event Society, which I have been asked to take part in. I've been crewing up a team of talent and artists for ISES Austin Gala. If you want a peek at what ISES Austin will be doing, (hosted by Allied PRA) click this link:
ISES Austin June Gala Newsletter My job for this amazing event, where do I begin? I am bringing 3 characters in full costume, (hair, makeup, wardrobe, props and bodypaint), to play a part in photo booths and to add to the overall atmosphere to the event. I am also bringing 2 other artists with me, Mendy Hoffman and Susan Benson. The look I am designing is so beautiful! I cannot wait to show you all the event photos! Below I have added a couple of costume image peeks! Oooh, it's going to be STUNNING! And with the makeup and hair plans, I cannot wait for tuesday! Once upon a time, I managed a ProActive skincare kiosk in Las Vegas, NV (while freelancing on the side). While there, I had an employee named Chrishauna, (which became a dear friend and support of my creative endeavors).
Even though I left ProActive to fully pursue my career, Chrishauna and I have never been able to pry our friendship apart. We have both been through ups and downs, states and significant others. But we have seen eachother blossom in a way that very few can say for us both. Pretty sure she made me autograph something I worked on. Love that girl! Why this blog today, you may be asking. Well, I got a text from Miss Chrishauna, updating me on HER creative journey. Now I knew she had received her Aesthitician license. But I am very proud to say she FINALLY decided to push into the Makeup Artist career path. I had her assist me in 2006, on my first feature length film, Isolated. (I was key makeup, hair and sfx). And I couldn't have had a better assistant. Chrishauna, I know your career will go far. Just keep your head up kid! You know I am here if you need an ear and them some! Check out her blog! http://VILLAINSARTISTRY.WORDPRESS.COM Those are my Art Department kids from the June session of summer camp, (Austin Film and Arts Academy). The talent and heart those girls have is so inspiring. I really give them credit. They begin filming on Monday, thier first indie film. So excited that I got to be their teacher. The two girls on the left in the first image are my set design/prop team. And the girl on the far right is non other than the makeup, hair and wardrobe stylist. We were ecstatic to reveive help today from other film students for prop building. And they really brought it! They did 3 banners, made a hook for a hand, blow-pipe weapon, darts and began to acquire the set design elements. The last two photos are of Charlotte learning how to make prop/wounds along with adhesion to the skin. I cannot wait to see their finished product!
I am a very lucky and thankful Jessi! Yesterday, after photo printing: Miss Cari Wible invited me to join her in Pfluegerville, TX to watch a photoshoot. I am so excited to tell you that the shoot was for Bliss Bridal Magazine. And although we did not get to work on the shoot, we were THERE! I will not divulge the details, besides those parties involved worked their tails off! It's gonna be amazing.
We did meet a fascinating dynamic duo! They represented some of the talent on the shoot. I believe there were 8 models. Drumroll please: I present, the lovely ladies of A Premium Blend of Talent. Mrs. Kim Van Vliet and Summer Edwards. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us all. So kismet! This morning I started my day with The Austin Film and Arts Academy as a guest teacher. I was the teacher for the Art Department course. Responsible for makeup, hair, set design and props. And I am super pleased to say that today couldn't have gone better! I am back tomorrow for a full day to prep the students before they begin to film. It's going to be crazy!!!
July still has some openings for Camp. Summer Camp ages range from 9-17. Be sure to check out their website for more information. For the bridal portion of todays blog: Cari Wible and I are having a girl's afternoon. We are printing my bridal portfolio, (of my hair & makeup) for the Event we are hosting booths at this Sunday. I also just found out the bridals I worked on last week I will also be able to add to my book. And, holy rusted metal batman! Those pictures are STUNNING! As I was gearing up to host a booth at a bridal event this Sunday, I stumbled upon images from my makeup/ hair past imagery, (circa 2005-2007). I was looking for an empty book to house Bridals and Engagement Photos. I forgot how beautiful some of the images are, so I've added a snippet below for you to peek at. What do you readers think? Add to my current collection, or keep on keepin' on? In case you were curious, Cari Wible Photography and FireMakeup Artistry are hosting booths at the TerrAdorna Open House and Bridal Event in Manor, TX. It's from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, June 10th. There will be alot of vendors there as well. If you are a bride looking for a venue and vendors, stop on by!
As makeup/hair artist, I worked on a Cedar Park, TX episode of "The Dead Files" filmed in March of 2012. The air date has finally come! It will be on The Travel Channel this Friday, June 8th at 10pm|9pmC. The network has uploaded a few images from the show, (as seen below). As well as a link to more photos from the web link below. It was such a great crew and talent to work with. Amy Allan truly is a talented medium. I cannot wait to see the full details of the reveal. The show is such a secret, even I wasn't there for some filming. Be sure to tune in! Travel Channel Photos link:
